By using our website, you consent to the collection, use and sharing of information as described in this Privacy Policy. By providing us with an email address, you agree that we may use your email address to communicate with you about our project Colive Voice.
Cookies, Tracking and Internet-based Advertising
Our website works with third-party products or services (“Service Providers”). These include Google and other Service Providers who allow us to track and analyze visitor activity on the NCTCR website, measure the effectiveness of our advertising efforts, and support the optimization of our digital marketing campaigns.
Our websites use “cookies,” tracking pixels and related technologies. These can be set by Luxembourg Institute of Health’s marketing team or by our Service Providers.
Cookies are small data files that online services can store on, and retrieve from, a user’s computer or mobile device through the user’s web browser. The information is stored and retrievable either for the duration of a website visit (known as “session cookies”), or until some later point in time set by our websites setting the cookie (known as “persistent cookies”). A “cookie” does not allow us to identify visitors; it records information relating to their navigation on our website ( consulted pages, date and time of the consultation, etc.).
We and our Service Providers collect how often someone visits the LIH website and what they do on our website. We and our Service Providers use this information to understand how our visitors use different resources and to help us improve the website’s experience, or to track performance of advertising campaigns.
Most internet browsers accept cookies by default, but browser preferences can be modified in “Privacy Setting” to block or restrict cookies if you do not want your web browsing activity tracked in the following way.
Our Service Providers may acquire additional information about your activity on our websites, including pages you visit, access times, visit duration, how you arrived at our websites and your IP address.
An IP address is a number that identifies a device connected to the internet. For most devices, the IP address changes on at least a weekly basis. Our Service Providers may also acquire device identifiers and specific information about the browser you use. In some cases, this information may be unique to you.
Data controller
The Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH), having its registered address at 1A-B, rue Thomas Edison L-1445 Strassen, LUXEMBOURG, is Controller of the research project NCTCR, in the meaning of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This means that LIH is responsible for the collection, analysis and more generally for processing your personal data and ensures their protection, in accordance with the GDPR and any subsequent text replacing or supplementing this text (in particular the law of August 1, 2018 on the organization of the National Commission for Data Protection and GDPR Implementation).
Purpose and legal basis for data processing
The use of your personal data is necessary to enable us to achieve the aims of the study, which we are conducting in the public interest as part of our missions and for the purposes of scientific research (art. 6.1e and art. 9.2j of the GDPR).
Data sharing
The data collected in the frame of this project may be shared in the future for research purposes but only in an anonymous form.
Data hosting
The data will be stored in Microsoft Azure cloud only on servers located in Europe.
Data security and integrity
LIH takes appropriate security measures, depending on the sensitivity of the data concerned, to protect your data from the risk of unauthorized access, loss, fraudulent use, disclosure, modification and destruction. Your data will be treated as strictly confidential.
Retention periods
LIH will retain the data collected via the application for 15 years following the date of collection.
Participant’s rights
As no identifying data are collected (no name, email address, postal address or phone number), the participant’s rights are limited. The exercise of such rights would require to identify study participants, which would considerably weaken the security and confidentiality of data collected for our survey.
However, participants have the right to lodge a complaint with Luxembourg’s National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD) in relation to the data processing.
